Window Signage

Glass is free advertising space that most businesses barely use. You are already paying for the frontage, the window is already there, and vinyl on glass is one of the cheapest signage jobs we do.

We supply and fit every kind of window graphic across the Sunshine Coast, from a set of trading hours on a front door to a full shopfront wrap.

The options

Cut vinyl lettering. Individual letters and logos plotted from coloured vinyl and applied to the glass, with no visible background. Crisp, classy, and the standard choice for business names, trading hours, phone numbers and door decals. Available in gloss, matt, metallic, gold and silver.

Printed window graphics. Full colour digital printing on clear or opaque vinyl, laminated for UV protection. Good for imagery, photographs, promotions and anything with a gradient or a photo in it.

Reverse applied graphics. Applied to the inside face of the glass so the graphic is protected from weather, vandalism and cleaning. The finish looks glossier from the street because you are seeing it through the glass. Best option where the window is at street level and gets touched.

Frosted and etched film. The matt film you see on office partitions, meeting rooms, bathroom windows and consulting rooms. It gives you privacy without blocking daylight, which is the whole point. It can be supplied plain, or cut with a pattern, band or logo. We do a lot of this in offices and medical fitouts, and it is often specified in a fitout as a safety marking on full height glass so people do not walk into it.

One way vision. Perforated film, printed on the outside face. From the street it reads as a solid printed graphic. From inside, you can still see out and daylight still comes through. Ideal when you want to cover a whole window with a message but the staff inside still need natural light.

Temporary and promotional graphics. Removable vinyls for sales, seasonal promotions and coming soon messaging on a fitout in progress.

The films we use

We use cast and calendered films from 3M, Avery, Orafol and Arlon rather than unbranded stock. Cast vinyl on glass holds its colour and comes off cleanly at the end of its life. Cheap film goes brittle in Queensland sun, cracks when you try to remove it, and leaves adhesive residue that takes hours to clean off.

Anything printed gets a UV laminate over it. Without one, a full colour print in a north facing window will visibly shift within a year.

Fitting and removal

Window graphics look easy to apply and are not. Bubbles, creases and misaligned lettering are extremely obvious on glass because you are looking at it against the light. We fit everything ourselves, wet or dry depending on the film and the panel size.

We also remove old graphics. If you have taken over a tenancy with somebody else's branding baked onto the glass, we will strip it and clean the glass back before the new work goes on.

Frequently asked questions

Will window frosting stop people seeing in at night?

Not entirely. Frosted film diffuses vision rather than blocking it, so at night with the interior lit and the outside dark you will still get shapes and movement through it. If you need genuine privacy after dark, a blockout film or an opaque printed graphic is the better answer, and we can do a combination so the lower panel is blockout and the upper is frosted for light.

How long do window graphics last?

Cut vinyl in a reasonable position generally gives five to seven years. Printed and laminated graphics are usually rated five years or so. A north or west facing window in full sun all afternoon shortens that. A shaded southern window can go well beyond it.

Can I still open my windows and clean them normally?

Yes. Once the film has cured, usually a few days, you can clean it with soapy water and a soft cloth. Stay away from anything abrasive, ammonia based cleaners on frosted film, and pressure washers.
