Billboards and Hoarding Signage

This is signage at the scale where it stops being a sign and becomes part of the streetscape. Building wraps, billboard faces, construction hoarding running the length of a site, printed mesh along a fence line.

We produce and install large format signage across the Sunshine Coast, and because we print in house we are not adding a middleman's margin to every square metre.

What we produce

Billboard faces and banner skins. Printed PVC or mesh faces to fit an existing billboard structure or a building facade. Tensioned, roped, or fitted with a keder edge depending on the frame.

Building wraps. Large scale printed mesh across a building facade, common on new developments and during refurbishments. Mesh is essential at this scale so wind passes through.

Construction hoarding. The printed panels that go around a building site. This is one of the highest value uses of signage there is, because a site fence is going to be there for a year anyway and it might as well be selling the development. Printed and laminated vinyl onto ACM or plywood hoarding panels, or direct printed panels.

Printed fence mesh and shade cloth. Full colour printed mesh cable tied to temporary fencing. Cheaper and faster than hard hoarding, and very effective for sites, sports grounds and events.

Shopping centre and retail hoarding. Tenancy hoarding graphics during a fitout, including coming soon and now leasing messaging.

Scaffold banners and shrink wrap graphics. Printed mesh across scaffold for refurbishment work.

Working at scale

Big jobs bring their own problems, and most of them are not printing problems.

Artwork at scale. An image that looks sharp on screen falls apart at ten metres wide. We will assess your files honestly before printing and tell you if the resolution is not there. Vector artwork scales without limit, so logos and type should always come as vector.

Colour consistency across panels. A large graphic gets printed in multiple drops and joined on site. We profile and manage colour across the run so the joins are not visible as a colour shift.

Wind loading. Solid PVC at large scale in a coastal wind is a genuine structural issue. Mesh is usually mandatory above a certain size, and the frame or fence has to be able to take the load.

Installation. Large format installs typically need elevated work platforms, height safety, sometimes traffic management and often out of hours access. We plan and cost that as part of the job rather than surprising you with it later. See sign installation.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need approval for a billboard on the Sunshine Coast?

Almost certainly. Advertising devices of that scale are assessable development under the planning scheme, and if the sign is visible from a state controlled road there are additional requirements. Site hoarding graphics on your own construction site are usually more straightforward. We will point you in the right direction, though for a major billboard you will want a town planner involved.

How long does printed hoarding last?

Laminated printed graphics on hoarding panels will comfortably hold up for the length of a typical build, two to three years. Printed mesh on temporary fencing is more like one to two years in full sun.

Can you reprint just one damaged panel?

Yes. We keep the artwork and the panel dimensions on file, so a single vandalised or damaged panel can be reprinted and swapped without redoing the run.

What is the minimum size you can print?

There is no minimum. We do everything from business cards up to building wraps. The same print department handles both.
